The first clay roof tiles were produced by machine in 1881, primarily for agricultural buildings and farms. Today, the rustic charm of the double-groove tile has been rediscovered and is increasingly found on the roofs of houses. Parallel grooves and sympathetic proportions are characteristic features of this tile. The slender structure also looks good on smaller roofs.
